hi, i’m somer love.

Hi, I'm Somer! (they/them)

I am an unapologetically Queer, non-binary writer, creator, and witch. I am also an animist, an activist, an avid nature lover, and a certified yoga teacher. I am a white settler currently living on the ancestral lands the Ni Okaska (Osage Nation), Niuachi (Missouria), and Illiniwek (Illini Confederacy), and many other Indigenous peoples, sometimes called St. Louis, Missouri.

My writing explores the topics of queerness, neurodiversity, mental health, and life as a big-feeling human. As someone who was "late-blooming" to coming out as Queer and receiving an AuDHD diagnosis, I wholeheartedly believe it's never too late to come back home to self. In my newsletter, I share resources for others navigating later-in-life transitions.

Some of my lived experiences include living with C-PTSD, PMDD, and dysautonomia. I am in active recovery from an eating disorder that consumed close to two decades of my life. I identify as a parentified eldest child and as a highly sensitive person. Previously, I tried to hide that sensitivity but now see it as one of my greatest strengths.

Born and raised in Southern Illinois, I am tragically Midwestern and a homebody who loves to spend time with my pug and two orange cats. I am a Taurus Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Gemini Rising, with a very prominent Venus in Pisces. In human design, I am a life path 4/1 generator. In numerology, I am a life path 3: the communicator. I feel I was placed on this earth to create and connect.

I was born with an anti-authority attitude and natural distaste for capitalism that has been both one of my biggest challenges and biggest blessings. It has caused me to forge my own path and now I love working with others who are doing the same.

Values + Mission

I am always striving to learn and unlearn around the white supremacist, colonalist ideas that engulf our culture. I aim to bring in my values and my mission into all of my work and relationships.

My Values

  • LandBack to Indigenous peoples

  • Abolition of the prison industrial complex and policing system

  • Noncarceral, restorative justice practices

  • An end to all conditions of white supremacy and colonization

  • Reparations for Black Americans

  • A matriarchal society that prioritizes fems and children

  • Mutual aid and community care

  • An end to the ongoing genocides

  • Love and respect for our Mother Earth

My Mission

In the work I do in this world, I aim to make others feel seen and heard. My goal is to help guide others back into their bodies and back to their authenticity. In doing this work, I hope to lead others to their own unique purpose and passions, ultimately building more vibrant and cohesive communities.

Trainings + Education

Throughout my career I have been largely self-taught. Although I believe professionalism is a colonial concept and education is a privilege, I also I feel that it is important for you to know where I’ve studied before you decide to invest your resources into working with me.
